A Sense of Self-Worth

Jupiter,the planet of luck and expansion, has recently moved into the sign of earthy grounded Taurus. What this means is that we have the opportunity to ground our desires, our values, and our sense of self-worth. It's a fortunate time to take concrete steps toward a more abundant future of what we want, and to build a structure for our heart's desires and talents.

Sometimes, it's hard to wrap our minds around our own self-worth. What does it really mean to have self-esteem and value our unique selves? What is self-worth? 

The answer feels like a riddle . . . self . . . worth . . . is that ego, is that heart involved, is it security, does it translate into dollars? All of the above can be true . . . but I think the key to unlocking our own self-worth is in owning our own talents and unique set of values. And owning them means . . . grounding them, making them real, visible to the self and often, to the world because we value ourselves enough to be seen. 

We are not seeking external validation of our worth, but allowing and hopefully enjoying our own unique combination of heart desires and needs for security. And when we do this - stand tall with deep roots and outstretched arms to the sky - yes, dollars may come, validation may come, and a sense of security in the world. 

We grow and become our own authentic tree in the forest . . . self nurturing - tending to our roots - as we grow ever taller and more abundant within ourselves.

Taurus New Moon

Today is a Taurus new moon. Although we still have many planets in fiery initiating Aries, we are entering a time of grounding our new found passions and making roots.

The internal places we've been exploring, our sense of self and identity - are finally getting a chance to come out and get planted in the soil.

Today is a good day to ask yourself: What do I really want? Where do I want to plant the seeds of my future?

After so many months of upheaval and self-reflection, rewiring and integrating- have your needs changed? What do you need to feel secure? What does your desired future look like?

Allow yourself the permission to plant the seeds of the things you wish to see flower.

Peace Begins at Home

 

Peace Begins at Home.

Simple words – trite – saccharine.

Almost obnoxious . . .

Makes me want to swat at the messenger . . .

But today, the messenger is me!

"Peace Begins at Home."

 

If you cannot find peace at home, how can you find peace out there? Simple enough. Logical. But, what the hell does home mean?

Solid structure, four walls, white fence, lawn, and two pets in the yard?


Or does "home" refer to the heart – place of our inner truth, our longing and be-longing, knowing and love  . . 

We've just been through a very intense mercury retrograde. For several weeks, we have been reviewing our sense of authentic self, how we walk and talk our core truth. Many of us have been re-thinking our identity.

 

People have been going through personal upheavals: break-ups,  job and monetary issues, and a certain soul restlessness with their current sense of "self."

For many, this personal "quake" has resulted in a feeling of not knowing where "home is," where one belongs.

To reconnect with our sense of belonging, with our sense of home, we must find peace deep within – for home is our deep within, our place of sanctuary, our place of solidity and four walls of groundedness – and this groundedness comes from deep within us.

With our hearts solid and our inner space secure, peace flows. We carry our home within us, making us feel that we belong right where we are. The outside noise and chaos, excitement and disruption move around us, but cease to define our sense of security.  

So today . . . I hope you find your home – deep within – and can connect to the logic that all peace must come from those solid structures of your soul, of your YOU, your knowingness and love.

Welcome to my world.

It's a world of inquiry and rumination, musing and downloading of information from the ether. A world of seeking balance in a world of change.

The trick?

Realizing that change never ends, it's just moved with . . . we never attain that permanent perfect calm, that is a still lake, with nothing stirring beneath.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We are humans, having a human experience, experiencing the multi-layers of existence:  hot/cold   in/out   above/ below  dark/ light . . 

. . . >>> what gets in our way is judgment. We tend to judge the things that make us uncomfortable - and that judgment leads to unease, often dis-ease - and a sense of failure.

In my world, all characteristics, all feelings, all attributes are just that - attributes. There is no value judgment on whether feeling ecstatic is better than feeling the blues, or whether being introverted is better than being extroverted, or being zany is worse than being controlled. All are different notches on the swing of the pendulum. All are valid. All emotions are valid. All people are valid. All reactions are valid - and ultimately are about ourselves, our one and only solo "me."    

Welcome to my world. A world of touching beauty and peace, of fluctuations in the swing of the pendulum between hot/cold above/below dark/light . . .  

Hang out with me as I sort out the beautiful chaos of living a life, accepting the swing of that pendulum called . . .living.
